A DJ with a name and a story. GUGADJ began his career in late 1995, when DJ Diego Briganti introduced him to the nightlife scene during the The Phoenix summer season in Guarujá, held at the former Lammilight venue. It was there that he had his first real experience behind the decks, learning to control the legendary MK turntables, master rhythm, and read the crowd — skills that shaped his artistic identity. By the end of 1996, GUGADJ was already the Friday resident DJ at The Phoenix, which he helped inaugurate, and also performed on the outdoor stage of the Casa Grande Hotel, where he built a broad, popular repertoire.
Several DJs played meaningful roles in his development.
The first was DJ Diego Briganti, who introduced him to the professional DJ world in Guarujá and Campos do Jordão, sharing memorable nights across main and outdoor stages. Those experiences helped GUGADJ refine his technical precision, musical diversity, and sensitivity to the audience.
Next came DJ Ronaldo Gasparian, a respected figure in São Paulo’s scene, known for his outstanding musical taste and deep repertoire curation. With successful residencies at venues like Moinho Santo Antônio and as part of RDS Som Profissional alongside Diego, Ronaldo became an important contact and mentor to GUGADJ, teaching him about music diversity, repertoire building, and the professional mindset of a DJ. Like Diego, Ronaldo remains an influential and active name on the dance scene.
Finally, DJ Ronaldinho provided the gateway to radio. In 1996, he invited GUGADJ to join 97FM Radio, where he became part of the Rádio DJ program, with a fixed slot on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. This opportunity followed a DJ course taken with friends André and Rafael, whose soundtrack was “Tell Me” by Tennessee. A few months later, GUGADJ took over the Saturday show from 11 p.m. to midnight, right after DJ Diego Briganti’s 10–11 p.m. set.
Over time, his stage name evolved from DJ Guga to Guga DJ, a name that became naturally tied to his identity. After years away from the decks, Artificial Intelligence brought him back to production, reigniting a passion that never faded. Now leading Zehara, he blends art, technology, and emotion — bridging analog roots with the digital future.d text
